Murdered by a demonic being, 15-year-old Yuji Sakai has his life force replaced by a flame that dims with each day. When the flame dies, no one will remember he was ever alive. This is how he meets Shana: a warrior with a burning sword, and the will of a god as her guide. Johann and Pheles give up their existence to give way to a new form of life, they son, Justus. Many Flame Hazes also leave for the new world. Yuji intends to reverse all the damage the Denizens caused to Misaki City, including the return of Hirai, effectively undoing all the relationships that Shana has built with everyone.
