Erdoğan Tokatlı

June 3, 1939 — Denizli, Turkey

Erdoğan Tokatlı was a Turkish film director, screenwriter, and translator, known for his contributions to Turkish cinema. Born in Denizli, he was influenced by his elder brother, Atilla Tokatlı, a writer-director who studied cinema in France. Erdoğan Tokatlı began his career as an assistant director to Memduh Ün on the film Mahallenin Sevgilisi (1960). He made his directorial debut with Son Kuşlar (1965), considered a masterpiece.
