Jordi Penner

December 16, 1987 — Riva del Garda

Jordi Penner (Riva del Garda, 1987) is an Italian filmmaker, actor, and educator. He studied at the universities of Bologna, Amsterdam and California, earning a Master's degree with honors in Film Studies. His debut short 'Amore Cane' (Love is a Dog, 2020) screened at over 20 festivals, including Oscar-qualifying In the Palace Film Festival. 'Pietre Sommerse' (Sunken Stones, 2023) won national awards and was selected at HollyShorts in L.A. In 2024, he wrote NËNA, winner of SIAE’s 'Per Chi Crea' financed by MIC (Italian Ministry of Culture). He is currently co-directing the short 'One Night a Bad Samaritan' with Bulgarian director Viktor Ivanov with whom is also developing the feature film 'Let’s Never Die'. Since 2016, he has been teaching filmmaking at Trento's School of Arts meanwhile teaching courses for various institutions including Sentiero Film Lab and Italian Film Commission.
